ACCOMMODATION
Lesotho is blessed with different types of accommodation for visitors and locals on the move, varying between the larger International Hotels, smaller local lodges and Bed & Breakfast facilities, and Camping facilities. Something for everybody!
The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation, in Conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture, recently started the process of having all accommodation facilities in Lesotho graded, to ensure that the quality of the accommodation is respectable, standardised, and as expected by visitors to the country. This initiative is on-going with only a portion of the different establishments graded to date. Where facilities have been graded, they are included in that particular grading section. Where they have not been graded, they are included in the section marked as other. We also welcome comments and complaints that visitors may have about these establishments, which we will also share with them, all in an effort to assist them improve their product and service offerings. Should you require feedback from them, we will also ensure that you receive same quickly too.
As and when the establishments partner with Destination Lesotho, and supply us with the required collateral, we will include more details for you, the user of this site. Where an establishment which is listed has not provided us with the required collateral, they have not partnered with us and their discovery will therefore be left up to you, our visitor, to source the establishment and make contact with them. In time we will also assist with on-line booking facilities in those establishments that are partners of ours.

By air
Lesotho’s main airport, Moshoeshoe I international airport, is located some 20 kilometres outside the capital, Maseru at Masianokeng. Here flights operate twice daily between Maseru and Johannesburg, South Africa.
Maseru’s first major airport is located in the suburb of Moshoeshoe II in Maseru, and is used primarily by the Lesotho Defence Force (Air Wing) and other private organisations today.
Most of the other districts boast airstrips and airfields which are used for domestic air travel and by the defence force and other private organisations. These can be and are often closed during the winter months when the highlands of Lesotho are mostly covered in snow.

Lesotho is a landlocked country and is completely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. Most visitors to Lesotho arrive by motor vehicles, and enter through the various border posts it has with the republic. The border posts with their operating times are listed below.
